Rather than creating a new user account for Skype, you can run additional copies of Skype on your same user account and point each of them at a different data folder. You could create a secondary user account for each version of Skype you want to use, but there’s a better, cleaner option that makes each Skype program run under your same user account. Common methods for doing this recomend you use the “sudo” command to run Skype as the root (administrator) account - don’t do that, it’s a very bad idea for security.
